Never-Ending War

Severed heads, and gushing blood,
A gory battle fought in the mud.
They rip and slash, they run and dash.
From minuite one, up to their last.
They're bloodied, they're bruised, they cannot fight..
But they push on through one thousand nights.
Nights of horror, nights of sorrow... Nights they fear there's no tomorrow. But still they fight this endless war, they'll fight until they are no more. But that's what's funny, that's what's sad, that's what drives the soldiers mad.
This battle they're fighting is in their head. And there's no winning
Until they're dead.

The author's comments:
This poem is mainly just about how people are fighting every day. They're fighting themself. But no one can really tell, It is all in their head. And it never actually ends... At least not until they have ended.
