Dreaming Awake

I sleepily wish I was anywhere else
The hour hand teases me
when my mind starts to float
taken to my mind
my dreams are evoked
I dream of the boy
I foolishly let in
I dream of my family
I act like I've forgotten
I dream of all the things
I wished i could be
and all of the places
I wished I could see
I dream to get away
from all the madness
of this world we live in
but is it really worse
than inside my head
I dream of all these things
but I can't fall asleep
just dream with my eyes open
and a smile on my face
