Meadow River Paradox
It's nothing but beauty in this land of no flaws
It's long blonde hair swaying rythmically in the breeze
It's starry nights coming in when thin silhouettes dance in pairs in the dark
And there is that silent, inviting river near the exit of the perfect meadow
Nobody ever looks at the river anymore
Not the blonde heads or the long and bony dancers
Not the sparkly stars with their blue irises
Only this little grey rolling stone that you are
Stays carefully away from the shiny waves
And as the sunrise lights up the wrinkles on its surface
All the happy figures dance their way back home
And you watch them leave to another flawless moonlit place
The loneliness you had felt is no longer just in your head
And you rip off your old bejeweled mask
When even the stars are gone, it's only you and the river one more day
Like every morning you reach the stream full of regret
And regretfully too, you stare at it and frown at your reflection
Because you are the only flaw in the world right then
You are the weed amidst the flowers
And the river gets refilled with black-stained, salty drops.
