Tasting Words
The words,
Rich on my tongue,
Made it change.
There are some words, the
Simple ones, that are
Neutral. There are some,
Double-edged and hungry,
That go only for the kill.
Others are
Soft and caressing,
Soothing.
Some are rash and harsh,
Some are loving and
Beautiful. Those are the rich ones,
Sweet, gentle, rich.
They are the ones that sat on my tongue and told me little nothings
That made my mind melt; maybe my heart, too.
We learn, eventually, not all words are like that:
Rich truths, we long to hear
The taste turns bitter,
It changes:
Deception,
Lies,
Tears.
