A Child's Game
You play in the sand pit,
Build a castle, with a dragon who guards.
Don’t care for ants marching on your toes.
It tickles so you dance,
Laughing in joy.
They crawl up your leg.
You may’ve killed a few. ‘
But you’re too busy,
dressing your dog in a suit.
The sands a dessert, your kingdom and life.
A place of dreams,
Where geanies exist.
Princesses sing.
Illusions are real.
You eat couple ants,
Still you don’t care.
Their nice and juicy.
Fiddling their legs.
You laugh again,
Feeling no pain.
You’re just a child,
playing his game.
You don’t think,
You act.
So the story goes.
The rest is untold.
Because dark cloud rise over your land.
Sand falls apart, ants run and hide.
A monster? A beast?
No, it’s your mother.
Destroyer of dreams.
