art is not a bunch of scribbles or pictures on a blank sheet of paper

it is not a collection of sounds one randomly makes when they’re dillydallying around

it is not done with lots of effort but rather none

it is felt

so… what is it?

it’s the smiles you see of a couple embracing, when they stare jubilantly into each other’s eyes, that not only proves but defines what real love is

it’s not the ochering sunset that sets in the evening, but the emotion of total bliss and tranquility that radiates from the lovely sight

it’s not a song, but the melody or tune that is heard within one’s heart that is sung aloud to express how one feels

it’s genuine kindness, not simply an act done for praise or attention, small compliments or help that come from not the mind but the heart

it’s not hope, but the push and perseverance one does with tremendous effort to continue with their heads high, even when everyone around seems to be against them

it’s everything we lost to make us even stronger as people

it’s inspiration after a despairing event or time

it’s the anger, the pain, the sorrow a broken child puts in while yelling out to the sky, to let the bad things out of him and may good things go in

it’s the reminder and support of a great friend that everything will be alright, because it just feels so good to hear someone say it

it’s realization that one doesn’t have to wait to be happy, they can be whenever they choose to be

it’s everything that we are, everything we feel, touch, hear, see, taste, breathe, smell, believe in

it’s all those things and more that inspires us to recreate the beauties and dismays of life

This is what art is

Art is not something that's simply seen, but felt to touch our souls. Here are some of what I see.
