"Never let the odds keep you from doing what you know in your heart you were meant to do."

Little sparks of embers growing
Licking up the forest's feet
Mother Nature grins, all knowing
Sitting in the small fire's heat

"You can do better." She whispers
Encouraging the flames to spread
They flick and flash and start to stir
Beginning their journey ahead

Flaring through the helpless trees now
With a terrifying roar
With all the strength they can allow
Yet still Mother Nature says "More!"

Hungry for every last morsel
That the forest can contain
Like a deadly, earthbound black hole
Engulfing all that dares remain

Then it smolders back into nothing
When there's nothing to consume
The black veil of smoke hovering
Over the remains leaves too

Now barren is the lifeless ground
So new born life can grow again
And Mother Nature smiles down
Upon the flames that are her friend

Your personification of Mother Nature is really special. The way you present the relationship between her and the fire is unique and captivating. The verbs in this poem- wow! Flick, flash, smolder. :) My favorite line: "deadly, earthbound black hole."

It's really cool how you used dialoge in your poem. It added depth to it. Amazing.
