there are few things more beautiful than
a blooming magnolia tree
or a dripping chandelier.

all i need is a guy whose touch
reminds me of
pussy willows and bourbon whiskey
and someone waiting on
the other end of
the phone line.

you make me think that
loneliness might not be
more
than just
a phase.

This poem is, in a slightly tweaked version, gong to be published in the "creative endeavors" section (the monthly artwork and poetry challenge theme for readers) of CICADA magazine in the October issue. :)

this was inspired by "here's what our parents never taught us" by shinji moon, which despite it's tumblr phenonemon-ness is a beautiful work of art. if you don't know it read it! (oh, and i'm glad you like the poem. it's one of my favourite of my own as well.)
