If I were in charge of the world
I would diminish discrimination,
And tell every nation
To stop squabbling over cursed nuclear weapons

If I were in charge of the world
I would banish bullying,
Penetrate poverty,
By discouraging a celebrity’s splurging fantasy

If I were in charge of the world
I would give the Internet a lesson,
For it spurs an avalanche of negatives.
I’d tell politicians to forget their crave for power through oil,
For it causes wars which equal turmoil

If I were in charge of the world
I would prevent cruel crime,
Harmony would truly shine
As people would unite, despite their blood line

If I were in charge of the world
Inequalities would incinerate
For humans and nature alike.
Injustice will die in the dust
As equality will beg to combust

If I were in charge of the world,
I'd make sure whales roam the seas in years to come
Endangered rainforest land wouldn't have to succumb.
And we'd give koalas the green thumb.

This all takes not one, but many.
You don't have to spend a penny
We can make a difference together
Re-model the world, which is now like crushed leather
Before it's too late.

This poem is just a start
To being in charge of the world deeply at heart

This piece inspired me to look outside of the box; really think deeply about what's going on in the world around me. I want to spread awareness of the issues out there. I want us, as citizens of one world, to not think once, but twice.
