The Hurricane
Water sprays as the waves crash against
my bumpy exterior.
The whitecaps roll in,
violently and
without empathy.
But,
I do not budge despite the constant
colliding of water on rock.
The crests are black and blue,
hues dark and depressing,
not unlike the bruises that are left on my soul.
Skies darken day to day
eroding my strength.
But,
Through the clouds and the mist,
the sun is out and has shone on me.
The waves are calm.
The storm is over and
I am still standing.
