I Hate Poetry

I hate poetry,
Not for meanings or rhymes,
And with no reason why,
I can’t listen nor read it,
Let alone write it.
I hate poetry
With pretentious love
Or deep despair,
Happiness and pain,
Life or death,
All fall on deaf ears
I can’t feel your torment
Or believe your love.
I hate poetry,
Long or short,
Whimsical or strong,
I will not listen to you,
Your thoughts,
Your problems,
Your fears,
I’m far too busy with my own.
