A Broken Heart?
A broken heart?
Shattered beyond compare
into piercing shards?
I don’t think so.
No, my heart is made of rubber,
encased in walls of steel,
and built into a block of marble,
I thought this through.
I saw others fall only to
pick themselves up again for another
disaster to befall them.
That won’t be me,
injuries bounce off my heart,
words simply slip past it
leaving not a single mark,
emotions bubble inside it’s rubber core,
hidden away safely from curious eyes
where they can’t be toyed with,
can’t be warped or changed.
A broken heart?
I don’t think so,
I thought this through.
