Here’s the problem..
Our parents romanticized everything
When we were kids everything was taught
With story books
With fiction
“You can be anything you want”
They would say.
But maybe, they should have done the exact opposite
Instead of
Fairy tales,
And lies
Read us the goddamn newspaper
War
Poverty
Death.
Show us the bad,
So when we get older,
We might just
Cherish the good.
