It Always Rains in Mississippi
It always rains here in Mississippi
Not one inch of sun blesses this place
And it’s always muggy, with big puddles on the ground
God pounds the ground to make a heavy thundering cry
And the windows fog up with condensation
Yes, it always rains in Mississippi
With the unbound less rain that acts as a prison
Oh how I yearn for the sun to just smile once more against the ground
But until then, I will sit by the window, and watch the rain pour down
