The Glass
She loved it
The glass
The curve was so beautiful
The reflection so fine
The ladder she climbed
The music she felt
It was magic she knew
And a glass path she built
The flashes they felt
Like a million stars
As she flew to the top
She wanted so much more
The numbers they fit
Her face was the puzzle
With all the pieces
And the box with her picture
But as she flew
Up, up, and away
She stopped flying
And began falling
The piano grew louder
Echoing in front of her
The flashes were lightning
No longer the stars
And down she fell
Back down through the clouds
Hitting each rung
Of the ladder she found
The picture was gone
The pieces were lost
And the glass that she loved
Is laden with frost
