Why is it that when I walk through the streets
Nobody seems to know me?
And why is it that when I look in their eyes
They turn and they walk away slowly?
They look at me as though I do not belongt
And they treat me as an outsider
Though just as they are I’m a human being
They just treat me like I am another
A gremlin, a martian, a ghost, a phantom,
A fat slug from a far sector
I get the respect that an animal gets
But nobody’s there to tell them anything other
