"Even in the midst of winter I found within me an invincible summer."

She sat by him in the back of the van
Her brown bare legs by his
Surrounded by summer
Her sheer white shirt against the wrinkled black of his
They breathe the summer
Her golden curly hair was tousled by the breeze
Coming through the open window
And that perfect song was on
And the sun was beginning to set
It's golden warm spread across the valley
And the yellow hills cast shadows that almost reached the river
With its perfect green glassy waves
And dark blue waves that hit you so hard you felt something you'd never felt before
And the white waves filling your throat after you ran out of breath
Getting cut up by the rocks
And loving every minute of it
The river by the road
Looked so perfect
That she knew what made people want to risk their life for it because she was one of them.
And so was he.
And when she looked over, she saw he was smiling at her.
Happily, blissfully, ridiculously smiling at her.
And she realized she was smiling back.
She didn't know why.
But she was so happy that she didn't care.
And it was in that moment that she realized that there was so much more to life than just breathing.
