Trapped and bound
In a cage
Filled with sorrow,
Pain and rage.

Screaming as loud as I can
But no one seems to hear a thing.
My voice echoes all around me.
More misery to me it only brings.

Diligently searching
Or a way out
Living in fear,
But allowing my fear to overcome my doubt.

No one around me,
I’m all alone
And fighting the battle
On my own.

Some swear
My life is marked my death.
Thinking wisely,
As I take my next breath.

Peeling paint
Off the wall,
Giving up my dreams
And taking the fall.

I know I can do better
But I just won’t do it.
Why give up hope
When I can pursue it?

When I finally release myself
Out of my holding cell,
I put on a new me,
And make it sell.

I unleash the shackles
And set myself free,
From being someone’s prisoner,
To finally being me.
