Awe Poem
I stood in awe of your presence
Scared to even be near
You laid there like a lifeless being
It saddened me
To see my best friend in a wake-less sleep
I wished you would wake up
But, I couldn’t make you
When I touched your hand
It was cold as ice
No warmth
It frightened me how a person could be so cold
The whole thing scared me
When it came time to say our goodbyes. I didn’t want to let go
We had so many memories
I didn’t want you to leave this world
I can’t change what happened that day
I wish I could’ve stopped the bad from happening
But, I can’t
I pray for your soul each & every day
Hoping that one day we will all be forgiven for the wrongs we have done
I pray that we will reunite one day
That day will come, but not today
Rest in Eternal Peace
My best friend
