Forever Trapped
We are trapped
within our minds
like a fish in its bowl
and you see,
we are content
in our prison
to go about our day,
our bodies containing our souls,
going about the motions
our prison warden directs.
We do not seek
freedom
from this life of ignorance.
We do not seek
truth,
for what we know is our truth
until we know more.
When one finds the truth
they seek the exit.
They seek escape from this
so called bliss
through intelligence
found with the common question:
why?
When one breaks free
they are shunned,
for most of us are content
to
just
not
see.
We are trapped
like a fish in its a bowl,
and we are the ones
who put the mesh lid on top.
We are the ones
eagerly,
laughingly,
jokingly,
pretending to live lives,
of contentment.
