Only A Wish

There were two friends. One a boy and one a girl.
For each other they'd do anything in the world.
The girl was so smart and so pretty. She attracted guys from all over the city.
But they left her broken
With the lies they had spoken.
Now the boy wanted to be more than a friend.
So he listened and talked and helped the girl mend
Just for her to get hurt again.
Didn't she see that he
He who has been waiting so patiently
Wishes so badly to be
The boy of her dreams.
But as it seems,
It's only a wish.
