True Delights
Dozing off into a world of opulent and brilliant hues,
I am unable to separate myself from sleep,
my consciousness fades,
I lie bewildered in my radiant wonderland,
so strange and yet normal are the thoughts and frugal that babble internally inside my secure mind,
As I lie mentally unaware through the nights peace and serenity, I am slowly whatever I dream to be,
I am a stone buried deep within the sand,
Drizzled softly by the crystals falling south of the sky,
Perhaps even a delicate petal from a rose floating in a downward spiral wilted by time,
I imagine myself as a single feather guarding the Robin from the cold and dreary midnight,
then as my thoughts become quite hazy, a proclamation is made,
the rooster has crowed, and dawn has come,
So with a yawn and much regret,
I flutter my eyes open to greet the harsh, fast coming day.
