write hard and clear about what hurts.

so one day a boy will come along
with lips that taste like gunpowder
and he will make you feel like your body is a war zone,
will kiss your neck and plant mines beneath your skin
and set them off with long, trailing fingers—
and sometimes you will feel like you are going to explode, like
there is shrapnel in your lungs and every breath is its own battle

just remember that you have a home court advantage
that your heart only rests between beats
and when they burned percy’s body
his saltwater heart was the only thing that was left in the ashes
and mary kept it until the day she died

there are things in this world that are larger than destruction
the universe is wide and wild and some things are stronger after they break

your body is a war zone but you are not a ruin.

I think Percy and Mary refers to the Shelleys. Mary Shelley (yes, the author of Frankenstein) had Percy's body cremated when he was killed in a sailing accident. Percy was her husband.

Where there is desire, there is gonna be a flame,
Where there is a flame someone's bound to get burned.
Just because it burns doesn't mean you're gonna die,
You've got to get up and try.

This is truly inspiring to every girl out there. Brilliant job, can't wait to read more that you write

I myself am entirely made of flaws, stitched together with good intentions.

This is fantastic
