i can't let go of you

i've never been good at letting go
with my abandonment issues
and yes i know
i'm attracted to men that hurt me
i am forever a masochist
and you were never perfect
you left rather distastefully
but no one has made me
as happy as you did
and though you may be
a coward
and a player
and manipulative
and all you did was take
it doesn't matter
because i never stopped loving you
and i probably never will
which hurts
but the pain
reminds me that you were real
it's all i have left of you
