Perception
In this world we’ve come to know
A true hero is hard to find
Many believe the only hero
Is the superman or batman kind
We put on masks from the time we are young
And pretend to be like those “heroes”
We put their faces on bed sheets, backpacks and much more
Because TV has mass produced their echoes.
In this reality we often deny
Heroes are all around
They don’t ask for praise
They don’t make a sound
Everyone’s hero is different
And everyone has a different reason
It all depends
On you perceptions and visions.
In the truth we must perceive
A hero is anyone who helps others
A hero can be anyone
From a brave police officer to a caring mother
Many heroes do big tasks
Others do small
We must include
Those who do either and all.
In this world we’ve come to know
All you must do
Is look outside
You’ll find a hero too
