A Drop In the Ocean
A drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I’d hoped you and me
Would end up together
It’s like rolling a dice
And getting a seven
Or demanding an angel
To come down from Heaven
It’s like wishing for rain
In a hundred year drought
Why these things never happen
I cant figure out
You’re that one splash of color
On a chalky white sheet
Everyone else is the lyrics
But you are the beat
You’re the single drop of sunshine
When the world becomes gray
But you’re always backstage
Instead of being in the play
You’re the oddball puppy
That’s mischievous and sly
You’re the only guy I know
That’s ever wanted to fly
You’re the wings of a crow
The feathers of a dove
You’re a mermaid’s
The North star up above
I like everything about you
Your brown eyes and laughter
There are many guys in the world
But you’re the one that matters
You’re a drop in the ocean
A change in the weather
I hope and I pray
You and I will be together
