lost in the sunset
I imagine the day is warm
The sand is cool
The sun is setting slowly
Our hands stay together
I imagine the distance
In your eyes
Doesn’t matter
And you’ll always be with me
I imagine looking to your face
And you’re staring out
Your skin is a sweet sunset
In this reflection
I imagine you smiling slightly
Looking to me
Kissing my cheek
And sighing
I imagine you’re still alive
Your heart beating
Next to me
Always
I know that you’re gone
And I sit alone in the sand
And it has been night for a while
And I’m gripping the sand below me
…waiting for sunrise
