Lying in Love
I once laid my head on his shoulder,
Once attracted his gaze,
Once kissed the tears of his sorrow,
Now alone I lay,
He found a shallow tidal pool,
A stunning young gem she was,
And left my deep, ever-deepening still,
Regretful, sorrowful love,
From all the memories and cherished things,
He scoffed and walked away,
Beauty torn, remaining in tears,
Now alone I lay.
