To Prevent Heartbreak
My heart was vulnerable
It was easily broken
So weak and easy to tear apart like paper
Bound to shatter into a million pieces like glass
So easy to pop like a balloon under a large amount of pressure or the piercing of something sharp
Bound to be broken by the boy with a hole in his heart
Trying to fill the missing puzzle pieces,
Trying to take what he was not given,
My heart was torn apart like paper,
Shattered like glass,
Popped from the pain,
And it cried tears of blood,
Broken by the boy with the hole in his heart
So I taped the ripped pieces,
Glued the shattered,
Began to fill the popped remains with love,
And put it in metal armor
To prevent heartbreak
To make it indestructible
To make it invulnerable
To make it untouchable
To prevent heartbreak
To prevent tears of blood,
To prevent the pain,
To prevent heartbreak from happening once again
