My Heart Will Never Heal
I spent months building up the courage to tell you,
To tell you that I love you.
A week before the moment I’d planned,
You tell me that you’re now dating someone.
I fake a smile to hide the shattered heart within my chest.
I really wish I could be happy for you,
But inside I feel as though I’m dying.
On the outside these scars show the pain that I feel.
The cuts on my wrists,
They’re already starting to heal.
But my heart will never heal.
I gave it to you,
Although you’ll never know.
