The static

It's all a blur,
So I ignore it,
Pain,
Neglect,
I just want to sleep.
Sleep through the static.
I want to hear the rain.
I want to hear the music
I can't keep hearing the nothing.
The blank,
The cold,
The static.
The empty waves of alone.
The salty water of regret.
The static.
Lack of connection.
There was music,
It filled my brain.
Loud,
Pure,
Vibrant.
But all I hear is the static.
It consumes me.
Because that's all that's left.
