My Best Friend
My dearest Jilly, oh where do I start?
You’re like a part of me, my other half,
I don’t think there are the words to say,
To describe how you make my day,
When I see your beaming smile,
I know I’m safe for the while,
And when we’re old and grey,
We’ll probably be married anyway,
Your pep talks and encouragements,
Always brighten up my downtrodden moments,
We’ve always had such adventures,
And I love to hear of your new inventions,
You’re outgoing, open-minded and witty,
Not to mention super pretty,
I’d do absolutley anything for you,
And I know you’d do the same,
I confess this love to be true,
And will never dismiss any claim,
That you are my dearest friend,
The one with the envious name,
The one who I shall always defend,
And hold close to my heart,
To my Jilly, for you; I do,
This is why I love you.
