Dreams
I close my eyes
Willingly, longingly
Ascending into the realm of dreams
Will I remember a dream tonight?
I hope so
For a while all around me is nothingness
Just black, empty space devoid of anything
Then light emerges
Unfolding into a dream
The dream runs its course
Engineered by my subconscious
Color, sound, Emotion
It’s all there
But on the cusp of waking
Everything returns to nothingness
All is lost
The dream stays hidden
Only known to my subconscious
I wake up
I don’t get to remember a dream this time.
