rock and roll dad
So I heard today was fathers
And I know
Every year
You get some lyrical piece of writing
Some poem from the heart
By me
And every year
It says
How much you mean
To me
But this year
I had trouble
Finding something to write
You know you are my favorite dad
A companion that I will always love
You make me laugh
and smile
A lot
But I want this lyrical piece of writing
This poem from the heart
To be different
I want it to be unusual
Better
Than the rest
I want it to describe all of the fun times
We had
And will have
In the future:
The entire car rides spent
Talking about nose pickers
And fart contraptions
All the long nights watching house hunters
Long days making trees and curious things
For school
The bike rides by the beach
And the fun times jamming out to the weirdest songs on the radio
But if I say it like that
It sounds so cheesy
It sounds like all the rest
And I promised myself
This lyrical piece of writing
This poem from the heart
Would be different
Unusual
Better
Than all the rest
Maybe I am just thinking to hard
I want it to be perfect
Maybe I should freestyle
You dad
D dog
Big D
In the house!
I love all the times that we jammed to songs
Kind of like this!
Talking bout gross stuff
Makin us laugh
Doing weird projects
Schools such a drag
Just want you to know
You are my rock and roll Dad!
That might have not been
The best choice
I guess what I am trying to say is
I love you
No poem
No list
No freestyle
Can express that
It’s from the heart
Not from my hands hitting these keys
Anxious
Amused by
What this poem will sound like
I bet it sounds way better in my head
And I bet my ears are getting tired of the
Click
Click
Click
The keys make
Every word I type.
But I want this lyrical piece of writing
This poem from the heart
To be different
I want it to be unusual
Better
Than the rest
Click
Click
Click
I just keep writing it seems
LOL
OMG
TTYL!
Okay maybe I should take a brake
But maybe I am just thinking to hard
Maybe I should freestyle
You’re my rock and roll D Dog
Ya you’re my rock and Roll dad!
