When I See You Again
So, did you hear?
I’ll be comin’ home soon
To wrap my faded arms ‘round you
And kiss you on the cheek
Then laugh and hold your hand
While we walk as friends again
Recount our long lost stories
Tell each other what’s been missin’
Hope that this will last forever
Did you hear?
I married a wonderful man
My children are growin’ so quickly
Maybe my kids could’ve called you daddy
Awe, but that was so long ago!
We were young and in love
Broke all the rules and never cared
But how’s your wife and kids?
I’d really like to meet them someday
Did you hear?
I’ve missed you so much
Sometimes I cry at night
Other times, I’m happy to be alive
You know, I forgot about you
Oh, how the years have flown
My little girl, she has blue eyes
And her brother looks just like her dad
I wonder what our baby might have looked like
Did you hear?
I’m pregnant again
My husband is ecstatic
I wish I could say the same
He’s growing inside of me
Beating with my heart, that you once had
And this child isn’t mine
It belongs to you
It always belonged to you
