I’ve decided to keep a list
A report of all my adventures,
And sub sequentially
A list of all expenditures,
No one ever gets the chance
To really know their life,
The many people affected
How they caused such joy and strife,
If I could tell and if I had the guts
I’d say all I can,
Despite the bruises and the cuts
And the banding of my hands,
But my biggest fear, largest of all
Desperate as it may be,
Is that the consequence would heighten
The growing distaste for me,
Acceptance is lusted for
Inevitably it occurs,
But resentment often brews
If it seems to come easier for her,
We’re very jealous, maniacal creatures
Both you and I,
Self-serving, self-preserving until the day we die
Falling like a brick
Floating like a feather,
Perfection seems to come to you in quite a plethora,
In my head I build you up
To far surpass me,
If only I could bring you right back down
Finally I would see,
Flawless is to reality
As oil is to water,
There’s always going to be someone else
More talented, charming or “hotter”
Accept the inadequacy you build up in your head
And far surpass the limits set
Prove yourself wrong instead,
I am that worthy, I am that gentle, I am that kindhearted,
For if you do not begin now
You’ll forever wish you started
