"I must have a prodigious quantity of mind; it takes me as much as a week sometimes to make it up."
Mark Twain

"An empty stomach is not a good political adviser."
Albert Einstein

Your hurt
Shot through with vicious words
And that's just what your friends did
Trod on by overbearing parents
Who never quite accepted you
And worst of all, you gave up
you let your once strong morals
Wither and die
You fell into the wrong crowd
You are allowing yourself to be the plaything of boys who have more testosterone than feeling for you
To drown them out you have crack cannons blow out you brains
Reducing what you once were into even more of a gray mass for self loathing
Don't you dare take one more step down that road!
I'm not stopping you because I'm a friend
I'm not your mom, or dad, or drunk uncle
I'm not saying this because I want you to love me
Hell, hate me for all I care
No, I'm saying this because I am a human being
And despite the horrors, and general stupidity our race is capable of
I want you to be here
In the moment
With love for yourself first, not me, nor anyone else
I want to be able to stand you up and have you walk out of this darkness on your own two feet
I want you to become the confident independent woman that you need to be, can be, and deserve to be.
So you get up
You set out on the road to living
Don't let me catch you back down here
Because to day comes your new beginning
Your shot at freedom
Today is your independence day

I may not know who reads this, but let them know I care. For if they have a shred of humanity in them, my word will always be there.
