Mountain
When you look at mountains,
Scraping the sky,
You’d never guess
That these huge behemoths
Used to live
Under the ground,
Growing inch by inch by measly inch
Until finally
They broke free of their earthly contains,
Stretching out,
Increasing,
Scarping the sky.
They are a lesson in patience to us all
For although their greatness
Overwhelms everything around them
They too started
As a grain of sand.
