As her claws get sharpened,
you turn away in fear.
She was the only thing,
keeping your feet on the ground.
When she took the hammer to your heart,
the tears started falling.
But you're a man, you say,
you weren’t crying.
No boy cracks
and let emotions show through.
I watched as you hugged her quietly,
one last embrace before you walk away.
Her lips are covered
with dirty lies.
You breathe them in,
as you say goodbye.
The venom flowing through your blood,
you can’t be saved now.
I try to reach for your hand,
as you fall in her trap.
The never ending game,
the cards will always change.

I wrote this while thinking of a friend of mine. His girlfriend broke up with him and he's been suffering from depression. I want to help him, but she keeps pulling him in and pushing him away.
