Autumn Departs
Clinging to something so weak that’s called home,
afraid and cautious of the peculiar unknown,
As seasons change and veins fill with woe,
it becomes apparent,it’s time to let go,
Let go of the one’s that showed us the way,
the people and places we’ll return to one day,
However, now is the time to leave them behind,
leave them there so your future can unwind,
Letting go and falling down,
unclenching fists and hitting the ground,
May seem like signs of failed tries,
but they’re merely just loosening ties,
Winter comes as autumn departs,
an icy layer bites into our hearts,
Before we know it we’re tumbling down,
no different than leaves, descending toward the ground.
