death of childhood
a hoarse wind passes
over the deserted playground
dry autumn leaves tumble
across the cracked grey lot
a small
boy
sits alone
on the carousel
turning
ever
so
slow ly
he hums
a slow
forlorn
melody
to him self
and
the song
echoes quiet ly
through the empty park
the once cheery colors
have faded
away
and the playground
is
grey
bro ken toys
long forgotten
scatter the dying
grass
the sky
is empty
for the ravenbirds
choose to fly
elsewhere
and
the carousel
is
slow ly
tur ning
