Please don't look at me
as if I were the root of all evil.
You were not there
in the car with us,
your cigarette ashes not flying
with everyone elses.
I don't recall it being so difficult
to ask a question.
Ask the girl who's always
asking them.
You, the one with no answers.
so don't you sit across from me
with that look on your face.
I suppose this is how she felt with you-
don't have to ask myself,
"Why didn't it last?"
