Monsters
As a little girl
I'd ask momma to check under the bed
And in the closet
For the boogie man
Little did I know as an adolescent child
Any monster I should fear wouldn't be hiding under my bed
Or in the closet
Monsters, monsters, monsters
Screaming in my mind
Yes, no, maybe so?
Momma, momma, make it all go away
I never thought I'd fear anything so small
Pounding my head on the wall, on the desk, everywhere
Rawr, only sound I thought I'd be scared of
Until the screeches in my mind came
Kiss me, make me feel all better, hold me
It won't do any good
Please just make it all go away
Save me from this nonsense
Make all the monsters go away
Leave me alone
Pick on someone your own size
I can't do this
Monsters, monsters, and monsters, oh my
Hiding behind trees and bushes
Under beds and in the closets
And in your own mind
I'm sure I've gone mad
Yes? No?
Maybe so?
Don't send me to the asylum
I'm not crazy!
I'm breaking down
The monsters are nibbling at the ends
Make it all go away
Make all the monsters go away
