Yesterday’s unwanted silhouettes
recall to my mind.
arising from old tombstones
like shards of ice,
ever digging into my flesh
unableto hear my cry for mercy
They drown me
in an ocean of unquenchable guilt
never to take a breath of relief.
But ever I will look to tommorrow
praying that it not leave me
in this state
to be haunted by yesterday.
