Closed Doors
For some questions, there are no answers.
Everyone wants to know.
Everyone wants a reason, an answer, closure.
Afraid to ask, afraid to prod,
Afraid to admit.
To open a closed door
Shed light on a situation
Gone, forgotten
Dead
And maybe one day, we’ll know.
Maybe one day, when the rest have fallen, when we meet again
Maybe when I’m dead and gone, I’ll find you
Maybe I’ll ask you
Why?
And maybe you’ll have an answer.
Maybe we’ll go back, back to yesterday, when things were simple
Maybe it will all make sense, we’ll find our closure
Maybe you’ll tell me
Why.
But for some questions, there are just no answers.
Do you know?
Do you know yourself, why?
Because while we’re all dying to know, the secret,
What you’ve kept from us
What you’ve hidden
Maybe you were trying to figure it out too.
And when I ask you, after the last day,
After I’ve closed the door on this world
After I find you again
You’ll just look at me, and stare.
You’ll pity me, because I haven’t figured it out, the sad truth
You’ll try to break it gently, try to find the words
You’ll tell me,
“For some questions, there are no answers.”
