Escape
Broken down again
By the short lived prospect of happiness
The world; surreal as it seems
Is more authentic than the gleaming carcass I now inhabit
Your eyes are burnt out
Burnt in, branded into my back
Behind, there is nothing
In front, was once everything
Lost to the feeling of being lost
Fighting with the feeling of being fought
Day in and day out
The storm never dissipates
Stripped to the core
So close to snapping
From the pressure of living in a memory
From the weight of these lies I carry
I need something to hold on to
Before I fall to the very bottom
I wish I could climb back out
But I think I'll just lay back
Just lay back and smile at the f***ed up world I escaped
