That curious loud noise

That loud noise you hear
the horrible thumping
the sound imitating horse gallops
it didn't start
until my eyes met yours
now we're lost and
neither one of us
know what to say
that thumping,
ba-doom
ba-doom
that mystery beating
that's so loud
you and I both hear it
it's my heart
my heart that wants you
to just speak
tell me how you feel,
what you think,
but until then
we'll listen to my self-made
rhythm
ba-doom
ba-doom
waiting on words
