‎"I’m learning how to drown out the constant noise that is such an inseparable part of my life. I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. I only have to follow my heart and concentrate on what I want to say to the world: I run my world." - Beyoncé

On the edge of the cliff,
My hand struggled
To hold on.
You came
And extended your hand,
Willing me to take it
And accept your help.
I held on to that hand
And held on tight,
Knowing you can let me fall
And believing you never would.
Still, I hit the ground.

I shouldn't have trusted you to hold my heart in your hand. Either way, it will crush. But you made it more painful.

*sighs for hours* I know I know I know I know this feeling more than ever right now. I'm going through this. Where I trusted someone even though I knew this person would eventually hurt me. So, when I saw the title of this poem. I was like, yup, I know what this is gonna be about. I love the feeling of being held from a cliff. I've written a couple of poems lately with this metaphor. I think it captures mistrust really well. Amazing poem here.
