Joker's Quinn
Words that were once
now float off into dust.
Words that were truth
now have become uncouth.
Would that words weren't,
yet they have been.
Is it worth it
to let desire win?
Leave my mind, I pray
God knows how many times each day.
Yet here I find you,
always.
Is love always like this?
Pain, undoing, emptiness?
That is what I have known
thus far.
The few who rally around me
hold hope out,
a personal star.
Someday,
maybe,
your visage will chase me no more.
My poltergeist,
my joker,
you are intertwined in my core.
