The Proud Colors
I am the red.
The luscious apples, juicy and hard at the core.
The changing leaves of autumn, beautifying the land we love.
The blood of our brothers given up for us to let freedom ring.
The waving stripe of sacrifice each of us endures for one another.
I am the white.
The cold flakes floating atop every mountain majesty.
The twinkle in a child’s eye, their hand over their heart.
The marble structure, tall and strong, declaring our freedom.
The band, purity and innocence, of our future flowing in the wind.
I am the blue.
The jays that lift off and soar across the endless sky.
The blossoming flowers of spring time, the rebirth of the Earth.
The rolling waves that rise up and crash down upon each coast.
The strong shade behind each and every star we live by.
